Around 1000 bikers, from Iloilo City and nearby provinces, joined in the much-anticipated 1st Iloilo Bike Festival held at Megaworld’s 72-hectare Iloilo Business Park in Mandurriao District.

Led by Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog together with Megaworld executives, the festival aims to promote health and wellness among Ilonggos and to showcase the ‘live-work-play’ lifestyle of the P35-billion Iloilo Business Park.

“The purpose of this festival is to gather the Ilonggo community and to show that Iloilo Business Park is the most bike-friendly place in Iloilo. Through this event, we have applied the live-work-play-learn lifestyle township concept of Iloilo Business Park with bike-friendly lanes. Everybody should always have time for fun and we are showing that the Megaworld lifestyle is about living the good life.” says Jennifer Ann Palmares-Fong, marketing head for Iloilo Business Park, Megaworld.

The Iloilo Business Park, dubbed as Western Visaya’s biggest business and tourism destination, is soon to be the next Information Technology-Business Processing Outsourcing hub in Mandurriao district. It will have luxury residential condominiums, International brand hotels, BPO office towers, a Megaworld Lifestyle Mall, a 1.1-kilometer Festive Walk commercial strip, open parks, transport hub, and the much-anticipated Iloilo Convention Center, among others.

“In Iloilo Business Park, residents and visitors need not travel so far to do groceries, to work, dine in restaurants, go to the gym or shop, because everything is within a walking distance. This concept of integrated communities, which Megaworld pioneered in the Philippines, is in itself a contribution to the reduction of carbon footprint in the country,” adds Fong.

The township is modeled after the company’s pioneering ‘live-work-play-learn’ township lifestyle concept in the Philippines.
